This lamp is originally for newer car models 1990- but if you use adapter cable 34439911 it can be mounted on model year 1983-89 with a small modification.
When changing to the newer tail lights you will need to modify a little. To mount the 1990- tail lights on model year 83-89 you will need the adapter cable 34439911 and 34439912 and you need to remove a sheet metal in the tail light opening before installation. This is to accommodate the bulb holder but this operation is not visible after assembly.
